Time comes when we all have to end one chapter and move on to the next. Some of us are simply ready, others may still watch and learn; most of us have been waiting for this for quite a long time and, for a few, it’s just another checkmark on the list. As the caterpillar emerges and transforms itself into a beautiful butterfly that sets out to amaze the world, we all have the responsibility of ascending to our next form – the better self.
And that reminds us of an amazing gallery displaying some of the most creative projects realized by graduates from different activity fields. Starting from the idea that the most elaborate project of a student throughout the university is the final thesis, The Institute created DIPLOMA – an exhibition that seeks to bring into attention projects realized by graduates of creative and vocational faculties. DIPLOMA SELECTED emphasizes togetherness and focuses on the artistic dialogue between 12 seniors of the creative industries and 12 recent graduates of vocational faculties, whose works were chosen for the capsule exhibition.
Follow the design trail, let your mind run free and join us through the collection. Imagine a better version of your city where roof gardens will take over the grey skyline… we can really see and feel the urban jungle connecting with our everyday identity. The architects and landscapers presented in the exhibition are all fighting for a better, greener world. They designed roofs where you can grow roots or food landscapes in a dynamic and adaptive structure that would bind communities in a strong and sincere manner.
Maybe the Many Faced God, presented by Bianca Mann in her project “Persona-Shield”, will impress you. By diminishing the dimensions of her own mask, the details that define the artist are gradually blurred into nothingness. Behind the disappearance, she tries to hide herself just like behind a shield. From the multitude of masks, she can always rebuild herself in a new shape. It’s always another her behind the shield.
If something worthy of making a savior change would be more appealing to your rational side then check out Constantin Rotaru’s – Catamaran Life G project. The system is designed to reduce the number of victims caused by drowning. The high-tech device detects your status through a bracelet connected to your wrist and and sends it to a drone operated by an electric motor. Gadget enthusiasts will also admire the smooth design and Ferrari Red color of the prototype.
If you are curious about architecture, urbanism, home design, fashion and innovation the Diploma exhibition is a must. Let the ideas of the SELECTED merge with your own. Where can you find them? At Casa Filipescu-Cesianu, Sala Lapidarium – Calea Victoriei 151. The exhibition is open daily from 22-29 May, between 12:00 and 20:00.
Oh, and don’t forget! We do not need magic to change the world; we all carry the power we need inside ourselves already – the power to imagine better. That’s what the exhibitors of the Diploma Selected event did. And that’s exactly what we think you are going to do.
